RANCH RUSH
From Fresh games and Aliasworlds, RANCH RUSH is one the farming themed games. The game is about Sara and his boss Jim, whose farm is threatened by a buy-out by developers. To survive, they must raise enough money to save the farm. Sara has an idea to create a ranch from the undeveloped acres. Time is limited and they have 8 weeks to come up with the money, or else!
There are 2 modes: CASUAL for the beginners, which include tutorials and EXPERT for those who want to bring it on.
You play Sara and you have 8 weeks to RESCUE THE RANCH! There are 56 levels and as you go on, your ranching skills upgrade from junior harvester to MVP rancher.
In a day, you have items to produce to finish a week. The faster you finish, the higher your time bonus. But finishing early does not always produce the most money. It’s thinking forward and stocking up that produces the big bucks. I usually bring to the barn all items in the goal save for one item. If I still have time, I stock up by producing milk or cheese or jam but leave it in the ranch and not bring it to the barn. When the timer warns 30 seconds left, I bring the last item to the barn, ending the day. Stocking up with the animals or machines means that I can finish the next level earlier and thus earn the larger time bonus then, I’ll have the spare time to stock-up again for the next level. At the end of each week is the FARMER’S MARKET where you can sell you goods.
So if you stock up in the previous day, you get to sell and raise money. I sell the most expensive items – bread, cheese, jam, wool, ketchup, honey, grapes, pumpkin. The rest of the time, I spend replenishing the items sold for the next level.
I’ve played this game for more than 10 times. I like it because it gives me freedom to design and arrange my farm to make it as productive as possible. This is a sample of my farm.
I have 2 barns to save time in moving the screen from one part of the ranch to another. Raw materials and animals are near to the corresponding machines. I keep my clovers near the cows, the cows near the cheese and bread maker. The tomatoes are near the ketchup machine and the grapes and hives are near the jam machine, while the sheep is near the wheat patch. I found this to be the optimal set-up to achieve maximum points.
RANCH RUSH is one of the best games I’ve played. The graphics are large and colorful. The music is great including the animal sound effects. The levels are challenging but not too difficult. Each new ranch you start is a whole different game. I’m really looking forward to a sequel.

GO GO GOURMET
From Oberon games, comes a cooking game with a new twist on the seek and find theme.
Grandpa Henry is on a quest for the hottest chili recipe. He left his restaurant, in a not so tip-top shape, to his granddaughter, Ginger. He leaves a blank recipe book for Ginger to fill with her own masterpieces. Before reopening the restaurant, Ginger must master the culinary arts. Chuck Burgerman, gives a hand to help Ginger get a kick-start for this mission.
On starting the game, a tutorial walks you through the basics. A recipe is in the upper right with items listed and cooking instructions (broil, fry, chop etc). Search the items in the kitchen and click. Then click on the kitchen apparatus to cook. Once the recipe is done, click on the tray to serve. To do recipes simultaneously, click on the second recipe to start, while the first one is cooking. A hint button is on the left lower corner to bail you out if you’re stuck. Earn enough money to achieve your goal and finish the level, watch for clock on the left, time is ticking!
Recipes are added to your book as you finish each level. With your money earned, you can now renovate Grandpa Henry’s restaurant. Going through several mentors, you are able to gain experience, collect recipes, earn money, ultimately arming you with enough experience and cash for the reopening of Grandpa Henry’s Restaurant.

Farm Frenzy 2 Review
FARM FRENZY 2 is the sequel to FARM FRENZY from Alawar games and Melesta. There are several things new with this version. First, the graphics are way better! The music is also better than the first version.
This time, 2 modes are available: Career and Unlimited. Career mode is same as the first version but with more levels – about 90 levels, with varying degrees of difficulty, some even harder than the first version. In the Unlimited mode, you start with nothing and work your way up to completing your farm. Goals are seen on the lower right of the screen with equivalent stars to buy upgrades. You have to reach a certain level though in Career mode to unlock the Unlimited mode.
There are new products in this version: pancakes, processed meat, fans, atelier and many more. New raw materials are also needed, which are transported through plane. It’s always good to stock up with raw materials in your storehouse, since plane deliveries also take time.
Essentially, the same rules and strategies apply. Bears are still around but aside from the brown bear in the first version, your farm can be invaded by pandas, polar bears and black bears. If you can catch brown bears and then let them escape to save storehouse space in the first version, you should be careful this time. The polar bears and black bears that escape their cages may crash into your manufacturing stalls and destroy your upgrades.

Farm Frenzy Review
FARM FRENZY is another farming theme game from Alawar games and Melesta. Only one mode is available with a tutorial in the first few levels. There are 48 levels and as you go along, you are able to buy more animals for your farm.
To complete a level, you are required to produce items. You get stars for completing the level. These are for upgrades for your farm and to get to the upper levels. Time targets are set to get GOLD or SILVER where you get bonus stars. You should always target the GOLD time so you can update your machines early thus finish faster and get more bonuses.
HOW TO EARN MORE COINS FAST?
Bears may invade and kick your animals off your farm. By clicking on the bears several times, you catch them in cages and you can sell them for 100 coins each. Always upgrade your storehouse so you can fit 2 bears and thus fit 2 bears in your truck. A trip can then give you 200 coins instead of 100.
As you play the upper levels, raw materials are turned into products. These have higher selling values and may be more valuable than bears. Bears take up a lot of space in your storehouse and truck, so sometimes it’s better to just catch them to protect your animals and leave them in the field. When left in cages in the farm, they eventually escape and leave your farm without penalty from your score or damage to your machines.
Always buy the most expensive animal first and the most expensive manufacturing stall. This gives you the most valuable products and makes you earn more, faster.
Make sure to stock up with the raw materials needed. It’s suggested to also upgrade your plane for larger load capacity and faster transport, which saves you time.
The game is enjoyable and easy to play. The graphics are good though the music is redundant and may be irritating. If you can’t reach gold time during your first try, you can always go back to the levels and retry. If you want to earn more stars before proceeding to the next level, you can always replay games.

AIRPORT MANIA First Flight 
From Reflexive Entertainment and Southwind Games, AIRPORT MANIA is a new and unique game. In this game, you are the airport controller, where you manage the arrival and departure of all planes. Planes have temperaments shown in their expressions, you have to accommodate all of them in a fast and timely manner or else you lose the planes and lose the points.The game is easy to play. The tutorial option runs you through the game, although you could easily play the game even without it.
There are 8 stages with several games per stage. A game has a target score to be finished within a set time, found in the left upper corner. A bar at the upper middle of the screen shows your progress. As you score more, you achieve EXPERT, MASTER, SUPREME scores.
The more points you score, the more items you can purchase to improve your airport. These includes terminal ports, defogger machines, ice breakers, repainting stations, parking slots, fueling and repair station upgrades. All in all, these improves the efficiency of your airport, ultimately enabling you to service more planes and faster.
Awards are given to your airport. These are stored in your AWARDS ROOM where you could even take a photograph, to brag to your friends about your achievements.
On finishing the game, a new option PAPER PLANES become available. Instead of the planes with facial expressions, your planes are now paper planes in several colors. The original planes with faces are cute, so I can’t see why changing them to paper planes is any reward. Besides, the cute planes could sing and whistle, what would beat that?
