Game Review : SALLY’S SALON

SALLY’S SALON

This game is similar to the Diner Dash series with a different theme, the beauty salon! The ultimate goal is to create a coast to coast chain of salons.

Your goal per level is to earn a certain amount of money, better if you reach expert goal. When customers come in, you direct them to chairs for shampoo, haircut, dryer, eyebrow or nail polish.

As you earn more money, you are then able to upgrade your machines and hire additional staff to help you with the different stations.

TIPS

To avoid losing customers, make sure to fill up all the stations. Use your money to hire additional staff to man the shampoo and dryer stations. This will allow you to concentrate only on the hair color, haircut and eyebrow stations. Once all stations are filled, go to the cashier and collect from as many customers as possible so the flow of customers and tasks are en bloc.
Try to accommodate the young first, since they are the most impatient. Customers lose their hearts, seen above them if they get impatient. Once they lose the hearts, they walk out. Old folks are more patient so you could prioritize them later.

Candles are available in the upgrade shop to soothe impatient customers. You can also offer magazines and coffee to waiting customers.
I like this game. Sally’s Salon is easy to play but challenging as well. The graphics are great, the characters large and the scene clear.

Orchard Game Review

Game Review: ORCHARD

ORCHARD

Tired from your old job, you are in search of a new career when Granduncle Fred offered you the chance to run his orchard. This is another of the farming themed game.

The game starts with a tutorial. Click on the character and then on the task buttons on the lower right corner to perform actions such as tilling the soil, planting seeds, harvesting and selling. You can set your price by clicking at the Go to Store button. As you cannot manage the orchard alone, you can hire help. But you have to have a house done for the worker, with a ratio of 1 worker to 1 house.

Next task is the collection of wood. This enables you to build other structures in your orchard.

A good thing about this game, is that once you have committed one worker to a task, the job is done orchard, you are able to produce more items such as juice, jelly, cake and fudge.

As you go through the game, you discover several types of land to try growing your orchard.
I found the game boring. The characters were small. The font size was small. Graphics was not too good. You had to move around the map to see the whole scene. Music is monotonous. I would have preferred a more active game. With this game, once you have delegated the job for your workers, you just have to wait for them to produce the goal for the level. I have played more exciting games than this such as Ranch Rush and Farm Frenzy.

Game Review : CARNIVAL MANIA

CARNIVAL MANIA

Polly Diamond was left with a land that previously was the carnival she loved when she was a little girl. Now, she’s asking your help to restore the carnival. This game comes with 2 modes, career mode and sandbox mode.

In the career mode, goals are set per level where you have to build a ride or earn a certain amount of money. Building more rides makes you earn more money while building food stalls increase the earnings of your rides but don’t get you direct income.

This game is really hard. The timer is fast and sometimes not generous enough for you to finish your goal. But the graphics is fairly good. Hardly noticed the music though.
