Game Review: VANILLA AND CHOCOLATE

VANILLA AND CHOCOLATE

Vanilla and Chocolate combines Diner Dash with Turbo Pizza, but this time serving ice cream. The graphics are ok but enough to make you crave for ice cream.

You entered an Ice Cream Academy, a tutorial is available at the start to help you with the ropes of the game.

In each game, there are set goals to finish. The Popularity Index in the upper area helps you create the menu for the day and prepare the supplies. Advertising helps increase the bulk of your clientele. The Weather index on the upper right, also gives you an idea of the amount of customers coming, a hotter day, above 25C , attracts more customers.

If the customers exceed 30, an option of Autopilot or Manual is given. The good thing about this game is you can set your own pace. If you want to be the manager, you can oversee your store by using the Autopilot. If you want to sell the ice cream yourself, you can use Manual. There is a speed controller, so you can choose whatever pace you want.

As you go along, you need to upgrade and research for new recipes. You can avail of courses in the Academy.

There are 3 locations available, the school grounds, the carnival and the mariner. The Academy is in the map in case you want to research new recipes.
The game is fairly enjoyable with a lot of levels.

Game Review: WENDY'S WELLNESS

WENDY'S WELLNESS

Another game inspired by Diner Dash is Wendy’s wellness. Wendy is hoping to create her own wellness center and asked the help of her uncle for guidance.

At the start, a tutorial is available to run you through the basic rules. First, you entertain a client at the desk and then drag them to stations. Watch out for the hearts above each client. Ultimately, the more hearts present by the time the client checks out, the more tips you get.

I think the theme of the game is redundant. This format is the same as Sally’s Salon. The characters and scenes are not as refined as Sally’s Salon, though. I barely noticed the music.

NANNY MANIA

A new Mayor has been elected in Suburbia and with him, is his young family. It’s time to bring in the Nanny to help them out. As the Mayor’s family is growing , so is the stress of being the Mayoral Nanny.

The game starts with a tutorial. It’s basically fixing the chaos in the house. Click on the highlighted areas to fix it but keep track of the time.

The family continues to grow as the levels progress.

TIP: To finish in time, make sure to pick up the clothes and finish the laundry first. You can do other tasks while waiting for the washing machine and dryer to finish. Double task. Heating the bottle, cooking, using the dishwasher takes time, so fix up the nearby mess while waiting. A cup of coffee can boost your energy and make you work faster.
The game is pretty easy and you can finish all levels in a day. It kind of gets boring though, since you do the same thing throughout all levels.

Game Review: FLOWERSHOP

FLOWERSHOP

Tired of the big city, a new opportunity has come as a quaint flower shop is for sale in Sunshine Isle. You are to start your own flower shop and garden.

The game starts with a tutorial. Click on the packet of seeds then onto the patch to plant a specific flower. Once it has grown, water the flower. Some would require fertilizer (rose and orchid), while others would just grow with water (lily and daisy). Then click on the wrapping station and on to the customer.

There are 4 areas in Sunshine Isle to conquer. The Meadow, Marina, Sahara and Amazon.

Meg’s Meadow starts easy with growing the daisies and lilies.

In Meg’s Marina, you acquire the fountain and the sonic bug zapper. Clicking on the green button of the fountain helps cool down your impatient customers. But once you have used it, you have to wait for the red button to turn green before you can use again. Bugs can come to eat your flowers so click on them before they can attack. You can also use the sonic bug zapper to simultaneously zap all bugs at the same time. The zapper also recharges before you can use again.

In this third location, you acquire a decorating station. After packaging, click on the balloon to decorate. Weeds can grow in your patch when left unplanted. Just click on the weeds and then the trash can. If the patch is occupied, weeds will not grow.

Meg’s Amazon is the final site to develop. The decorating station is now complete with the bow and greeting card section. In addition to bugs, caterpillar can come to eat your flowers so make sure to double click them.
TIPS
A customer served with 5 hearts gives you a bonus of 10 points. But don’t worry if you lose a customer, you can still reach your goal if you serve the next customer fast and gain the bonus tip.
Click on the flying animals to get points. The faster the flyer, the bigger the points!

This is the 3rd installment of the FARM FRENZY SERIES. The basics are still the same as the previous 2 games.

There are several levels for your amusement with 6 pizzerias interspersed.

The curd factory and pizzerias are new to the game.

You are able to upgrade your farm by going to the shop. Here the Truffle factory and Pickle factory are also new to the game. Six different pizza recipes are also available once you have purchased the pizzerias: Chinese, German, French, Italian, Russian and American.

This game was very enjoyable. Although the pizza recipes were quite complex because of more ingredients, the game was quite challenging.

EMERALD CITY CONFIDENTIAL

Emerald City Confidential is a game of puzzles within a story. You are playing Petra, a detective in Emerald City. As you go along the game, you realize that the characters are from the Wizard of Oz and that Emerald City is really Oz but in a more modern time.

The game starts with a tutorial to give you a run through of the ropes.

The game has several quests per scene. There are dialogues in the game that you have to pay attention to. As you talk to character to character, dialogue options are available to help you solve the quest.

As you go along, you collect several items which can be used in a certain scene.

You are able to transport yourself through the Gump station. Click on the highlighted areas in the map to move from area to area.

But if you find yourself stumped, the book with the question mark on the lower right can help you out.
I was quite fascinated with the story and the characters. It was very surprising to see the characters of Wizard of Oz in a new light. I won’t give away much of the story, you just have to play the game to find out.
